Many people who are planning their vacations will choose to head to Mexico. This decision is based on culture, food but most of all the beaches. If you are a beach lover you might decide that the beaches alone are the perfect reason to vacation in Mexico. The coastlines are extensive and include the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea as well as the Pacific Ocean. The body of water will depend on where you decide to visit and you will soon discover that each beach and the water around it will be different. Here are just a few of the best beaches found in Mexico.
Playa de Akumal
If you are interested in snorkeling the beach known as Playa de Akumal might be just the place for you. The reef that is featured on this beach stretches from twenty feet to three hundred feet off the shore and offers many different levels for swimmers. The water here is very calm so even your youngsters can enjoy swimming with the turtles and tropical fish. If you are not into snorkeling you can relax on the white sand and enjoy the water that has no waves.
Bahia Balandra
If you are traveling with your family the premier family beach located in Mexico would be that of Bahia Balandra. This beach is located in the Baja region and is known for its rock formation called Diamond rock. Here you will find a beautiful beach with a light wind and water-worn rock formations. The water is shallow enough that the water will warm quickly and the swimming is safe in all directions. The downside to this beach is that there are no amenities that are beach side but the good news is that this makes the beach less crowded.
Playa del Carmen
Many people like to head to the beach for rest and relaxation. This is the beach for this. The sand is clean and the water is nice and calm. It might often be busy with European tourists there will still be plenty of room for you. You will find that there are plenty of amenities such as large resorts and smaller size hotels and the area is always busy with cruise ship visitors.
Puerto Vallarta Beach
Puerto Vallarta Beach is a Pacific Oceanside town that is definitely a resort town. There are many different kinds of beaches in this area so you will be able to find one that will fit your choice with no problem at all. This is a perfect place to go snorkeling as well as whale watching and deep-sea fishing. This is one of the most popular areas located in Mexico and can often get crowded but you will find a large mix of resort areas. You will also find quaint shops to browse through and small hotels if the resorts are not your type of thing.
Cancun Beach
Cancun is one of the most visited areas in Mexico. It is known for the beautiful beaches and clear blue waters. Here you will find many different resorts, restaurants and places to shop and play. Many people compare this area to the Las Vegas strip. This is because there are so many resorts that line the streets it is very reminiscent of Vegas. There are also a dozen beaches in the area so you will be able to relax in the sand, whale watch, snorkel and much more.
If you are planning a beach vacation to Mexico you will not be disappointed in the beaches that Mexico has to offer. There are many beautiful areas that you and/or your family will love to visit and you might just make this trip an annual trip because you will enjoy it so much.
