Learn How To Say No And Do Not Be Afraid To Say It

Many people in the world do not like to disappoint other people by saying no.  You should be able to only say yes when the situation or the people are something you trust and that you want to do.  A good example of this is when you are in a bar and someone offers you another drink or shot of something.  If you feel that you have had enough you should hold your ground and say no.  However in a situation like this it is easy to fall into the trap of peer pressure.  Do not fall into this trap and leave when you are ready.

Talk To Locals To Get Advice

If you are looking for advice regarding the area you are traveling in you should get that advice from the locals.  A great source of information is the employees at your hotel.  Not only will they be able to tell you the best restaurants and tourist areas they can also tell you about any of the popular scams happening in the area that you should look for.

Dress Like A Local

One of the best ways to draw attention to you is to stand out.  However if you dress like the locals dress then you should not have a problem blending in.  A perfect example of this is that in some countries women cannot dress the way you might be able to dress at home.  You will need to cover up at least from your knees to your shoulders to blend in.  It is recommended that you do the research about how to dress before you leave home.

Do Not Walk Alone At Night

There are many places in the world that it is perfectly safe to walk by yourself in the dark.  Unfortunately there are also many places that it could turn out to be very dangerous.  If you are going out at night you should walk in groups or at least with one other person.  This will hopefully deter something bad from happening to you.

Have Copies Of Your Important Documents

Before you leave home you should make copies of all your important documents.  Examples of these documents are your passport and your identification as well as your travel documents.  It is also recommended that you keep electronic documents as well.  This will help you in the long run if you happen to have items that turn up missing during your trip.

The above examples are only a few travel tips for when you are traveling alone as a female.  There are many others as well.  The main goal of these tips is to keep you as safe as possible while you are traveling alone.
